Team For A Day!
One thing to remember about weddings is that a lot of people come together and work really hard to make everything possible, a lot of these people don’t know each other and some of them have worked together many times, often only a single day at a time.
This is a blog of appreciation for those behind the scenes and on the scenes alike! Whether it be the head chef and their staff in the kitchen just casually throwing together sometimes upwards of 150 meals every half hour, or the Celebrant who spends their days leading up drafting perfecting or just a Llama being present for the ceremony. So in no particular categorical order, here are a few of our favourites!
VENUES
Stones of the Yarra Valley – Pretty much a flawless winery with grounds for outdoor ceremony, exquisite chapel and too many awesome choices for reception areas!
Wye River Hotel – A beach-front venue surrounded by The Otways with an abundance of lush Forest and views for days! We love coastal weddings! So much that we wrote another blog over here about them!
Rupert on Rupert – One of those cool and classy City venues hidden amongst the warehouses of Collingwood. This venue has all the vibes of your favourite cocktail bar with a superb menu and perfect ambiance
Glasshaus Inside – If you’re into plants, this is probably the venue for you. A literal greenhouse with amazing afternoon beams of light. Like a green Oasis in the middle of Richmond (You’ll see bits of Rupert & Glasshaus in Matt & Emily’s video below)
Greenstone Vineyard – Wine and Weddings go pretty hand in hand as far as history goes. Greenstone provides a huge space to create your wedding with their massive lawn and Yarra Glen provides an easy going back drop to do so.
CATERING
Morrocan Soup Bar – We’re bias to the vegetarian side of things but Moroccan Soup Bar are next level when it comes to simple and delicious catering options. Based in Fitzroy and full of customisable options for your event.
Sugar Lace Cakes – Classically tiered and deliciously colourful cakes, designed to fit your wedding cake dreams!
EVENT DESIGN
State of Nature Flowers – Can ya tell we love our florists? State of Nature has a real keen eye for colour coordination and find the best way to make your floral display pop!
Here Comes The Truck – A huge selection of food trucks available to cater the heck out of your wedding celebration. Not only do they sort out all your food needs, they’ll take care of the rest of it too, venue, styling, celebrant, photographer? you got it!
ENTERTAINMENT
Lily Road Band – This band blew our socks off the first time we saw them play, high energy and full of soul with a huge choice in singers and song styles!
CELEBRANTS
Celebrant Kate – Kate is ready to take your story and help you turn it into a beautiful ceremony. She doesn’t skimp on the behind the scenes work
The Wedding Anarchist – Also known to close friends and lovers as Dee. This celebrant is all Rock n Roll and ready to share the marrying duties with any and all Rockstars in attendance.
